READ THE RESULT CAREFULLY

Numbers need context

A calculator can perform arithmetic consistently. It cannot know whether an event will happen, whether a market will settle as expected, or what terms an operator applies.

Example: GHS 200 at decimal odds of 2.40 gives an illustrative gross return of GHS 480 if the bet settles as a win. The GHS 280 net figure is the amount above the original stake. Neither figure is a prediction or guarantee.

How to read our examples

  • Gross return includes the original stake.
  • Net result subtracts the stake from a winning gross return.
  • Implied probability is a conversion from price, not a measured forecast.
  • Overround describes a sum of raw implied probabilities, not guaranteed operator profit.

Examples use hypothetical figures and Ghana cedis where useful. Check current rules and settlement terms for any real market.
